Become a DCAC Volunteer!

Dallas Children's Advocacy Center has flexible and meaningful opportunities for those interested in volunteering their time and unique talents toward restoring hope to children who have been abused.

Volunteer Requirements

In order to volunteer at DCAC, all applicants must ...

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Complete all steps listed on this page (application, training and post-tests, references, complete and clear a criminal and DFPS background check, and attend a DCAC Volunteer Orientation)

After you have completed the steps below, a DCAC staff member will contact you to conduct a brief phone interview and begin to schedule your volunteer time. If you have any questions, please contact us at volunteer@dcac.org

Step 1: Complete Volunteer Application and Sign up for Orientation

Step 2: Review and Sign Policy Document

Please click the link below to download a .pdf of our Volunteer Policy Manual. 

Once you have read the document, please enter your name in the field on the final page, and email the .pdf to volunteer@dcac.org

Step 3: Attend Orientation

Once you attend your scheduled Orientation session (scheduled during your application in Step 1) and complete the steps above, you will receive two background checks by email.

Step 4: Complete Background Checks

You will receive two (2) emails at the email address provided in your application: one from CACTXBGCREQUEST@DFPS.STATE.TX.US, and one from AUTOMATION@INSTASCREEN.NET.

You must complete and submit the background check forms in both emails in order for your volunteer application to be considered complete. If you do not receive these emails, please contact volunteer@dcac.org.
